Holiday

Holiday is recorded in hours and minutes.

There are two basic steps for booking a holiday:

1. Make a holiday request:

  • From the menu choose Add Holiday
  • Enter the date you require and the number of hours you are booking (this may be determined by local rules in your company)
  • Choose a an Absence Type and whether the holiday is a whole day or morning/afternoon
  • Click the Book My Holiday button

2. Approve the request:

  • A manager can approve holiday
  • From the menu choose Holiday Planner
  • Find the holiday request you wish to approve
  • If it is red you can click the request and it will turn green – i.e. approved

OR

3. Decline the request

  • A manager can decline a holiday request
  • From the menu choose Holiday \ Approve Holiday
  • In the list find the holiday you wish to decline
  • Click the Decline button
  • The holiday request will be deleted
  • An email will be sent to the member of staff who requested the holiday alerting them to the event and asking them to contact their administrator for more information.

Cancelling a holiday is almost as easy

1. Request a holiday cancellation:

  • From the menu choose Add Holiday
  • Enter the date you want to cancel and the type
  • Click the cancel button
  • You should then see a red tick beside your holiday booking to indicate that you have requested a cancellation

2. Approve the cancellation:

  • A manager will approve a cancellation request
  • From the menu choose Holiday Planner
  • Find the holiday request you wish to cancel
  • It should be coloured black
  • Click the cancellation request – if it si cancelled the holiday booking will disappear completely and is deleted from the system
  • If the booking is red, first clcik to approve it, beceause there is a cancellation request outstanding it will change to black, cklick it again to approve the cancellation
